A fabulous Antique Edwardian Suffragette brooch featuring a solid 15ct Yellow Gold chain link gallery with two hanging chains and a lovely Rosy 9ct Gold heart decorated with 0.05ct Peridots, Amethysts and a central 0.08ct Diamond.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery popularly consisted of Violet, Green and White stones which were chosen to counter the masculine women’s rights stereotypes put forward by opponents. Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes!
The piece is a wonderful design and fitted with a strong pin and safety chain for added security when worn. It is a highly collectable piece and a beautiful representation of the movement.
